First 3 would be Gold Eagles even though I don’t like them at all. They are really boring. But they are more durable than the Buffalos.

If starting out today I’d go for Krugerrand (the year I was born) – mother of modern bullion – no arbitrary denomination – I love that!
The Britannia is a no brainer and beside it fits same capsules and storage systems as Krugerrand (and Eagle and Buff). The last oz… Not that sure if requirement is 1 oz coin then the new Eagle. If no requirements then perhaps vintage (European) coins. Unless you’re super rich you should have some fractional gold as well. Yes they may be a little less liquid in the US but since I’m living in EU they’re a no brainer and very liquid here. They might fetch a little less pr gram of gold when sold – especially to a dealer but their premium is also on the low side so actually they’re usually a better buy than modern fractional bullion.
The fractional can also consist of restrikes. Especially Austria is known for restrikes and their 1 Ducat usually has a very competitive spread – and especially for its weight.

I buy “other” coins after I had my eagles and buffalos. It gets super redundant when you buy the same thing every time. Some really pretty coins out there in fractional to an ounce.

My options are limited by my own proclivities. I won’t buy anything with the queen on it, anything from China, or anything that may cause hesitation during resale (weird stuff). And I don’t like buffalos. So I’m pretty much bound to Eagles, and maybe generic John Wicks. Krugs would be okay, but why buy a Krug when I can buy an Eagle.

Are the buffalo coins from empex 24k or 22k

wow nice

I like the eagles Buffalos and pre 33 for my first few gold ounces. Eagles and Buffalo’s have a higher premium then pre 33 at least at my LCS.

Both coins being BU and 1/4oz, Brit is $510 and AGE is $528. Which one do you choose?

my 1st 3 oz will be all eagles 1 oz, 2-1/2 oz and 4 -1/4 this will happen after I have amassed 250 oz of silver!
Stack That Gold
Ideally after you set aside funds for an emergencies and pay the bills, I say go for gold you don’t have to pay taxes on and has the lowest premiums, and then choose what you like once you build up a good amount of “reserve gold”. Its all liquid, just Eagle’s will command a higher premium.

I just started stacking and I chose the 1oz eagle for my first coin but to be honest I’m not sure it’s my favorite looking. I chose the American Eagle first for the hassle free liquidity value aspect of it. I’ll probably get a Buffalo next and then I may shift to some 1/4 oz for a while. I know there is cost savings with buying full 1oz but with my budget 1/4 is something I can do more often and I also like the idea of not having to sell a full 1oz coin and having the option to just sell 1/4oz if I wanted

I am all in on Brittania’s! 24k, Security, Price & Stunning Design.

What about sets or series or limited production. SDBullion has “The Awakening” series Limited production. Would these coins bring a higher price at sale.

Wondering if I should start with philharmonic since i plan on living in Europe. What do you think
2 is 1
It’s a very well-known coin. So is the Canadian Maple Leaf and the Britannia. Cheers!
Brian Contos
Thanks. Just bought a philharmonic

Sorry for the newb question, but how do you know which years are more desirable for the American gold eagles ?
2 is 1
There really is no difference at all at the high level. Online dealers may charge more for years they have fewer of and certain individuals may want to complete sets, but there is no difference in value. Cheers!

@2 is 1 it seems like gold coins and trading cards have some things in common, i come from cards/collectibles so looking to diversify my portfolio, thanks man, awesome videos
